Laura Białecka is a new addition to the Mt28 student ministry team in Warsaw. Her story blends artistic passion, American experience, and a deep spiritual calling.
Laura decided to follow Christ as a teenager during the "Władek" student camp on the Baltic seaside. The turning point was a sincere conversation with her aunt, through which she fully grasped the meaning of the gospel and gained assurance of salvation.
She developed her artistic talent in the United States, where she studied Studio Art. While there, she gained diverse professional experience—ranging from working in a coffee shop to being involved in young adult ministry at her church in Dallas.
However, it was a one-year Bible study program at that church that proved decisive. God led her to an intensive study of Scripture combined with practical ministry. Despite facing challenges, Laura felt that this was her path.
"So, I decided that if God allowed it, I wanted to continue in full-time ministry. The question now was: where?" Laura recalls.
The idea of returning to Poland and joining Mt28 first crossed her mind at the beginning of the program, even though the prospect of leaving her settled life in the States seemed daunting at first. During the summer, after completing her biblical studies, Laura spent several months in Poland. It was there she received a clear answer.
"God clearly showed me that this was the answer to my question of 'where.' Making that decision, I felt a great peace," Laura concludes.
Currently, Laura is part of a five-person team that organizes weekly meetings for students in Warsaw. Their work includes going out to universities, meeting students, inviting them to gatherings, and engaging in meaningful conversations about life. Laura also leads a Bible study group for three new students.
"It is difficult to engage new students and encourage them to attend meetings. We put a lot of heart and work into it. I was prepared for the fact that the academic environment in Warsaw is a challenging mission field," Laura admits.
Despite the difficulties, she hasn't lost her enthusiasm. She reminds herself of Jesus' parable of the lost sheep.
"Reaching just one person is already a reason to rejoice; that is already a success," she says.
Outside of ministry, Laura loves to paint, draw, and create. This year, she proved her endurance by running a half-marathon. Another fun fact about Laura is that she owns four pairs of cowboy boots.
Laura asks for prayer for God to raise student leaders who would join the team’s efforts in reaching university students in Warsaw.
Originally from the picturesque town of Wadowice, Kacper heard the gospel under unusual circumstances. As he jokingly tells it, his spiritual journey began when he set out to get a kebab.
Set in a secluded location, the "Władek" student camp, has allowed young people to experience faith and community for 20 years.
Nearly 2,000 people from 43 European countries, including Poland, gathered for a historic conference.
