A Step into the Unknown

Sometimes a single conversation can change the course of someone's life. Even meeting a friend for coffee can turn into a conversation about Jesus.

This is exactly the kind of encounter portrayed in A Step into the Unknown (Polish: Krok w nieznane), a new, free evangelistic film in Polish designed to help people naturally explore life's biggest questions and share the Good News.

The Gospel Close to Everyday Polish Life

"Even though I don't have much free time, I knew we had to seize the opportunity to create a Polish film that shares the truths of the Christian faith," says Marek Matuszczak, leader of Digital Strategies at Mt28. "By God's grace, everything came together. I saw God at work throughout the project—in the commitment of the actors, the support of the Jesus Film Project team, and the dedication of our Slovak partners who prepared the film set. It was a wonderful adventure, and I experienced God's favour at every stage of the project."

For many years, we have benefited from excellent evangelistic resources produced abroad. Yet there is still a great need for materials created specifically for Polish audiences—resources rooted in our language, culture and everyday experience. We want people in Poland to hear the Gospel in ways that feel natural, relevant and accessible.

That is why the Digital Strategies team at Mt28, in partnership with the Jesus Film Project, created A Step into the Unknown. The film presents the message of the Four Spiritual Laws through a contemporary story that reflects everyday life.

The film is available as a 13-minute feature or as four shorter episodes, making it easy to use in one-to-one conversations, small groups, churches and community gatherings.

A Shared Project, a Shared Mission

A Step into the Unknown was created in collaboration with the Slovak ministry Agapé Slovensko. Our Slovak partners invited us to join the project and oversaw the production in Slovakia, including the filming locations, equipment and technical aspects of the shoot. Meanwhile, our team developed the Polish script and worked with a cast of Polish actors.

"Taking part in the film was an unexpected privilege and an opportunity to use my gifts for God's glory," recalls actor Bartek Lewinski.

As a result, two versions of the film were produced—one in Slovak and one in Polish. While they tell the same story, each speaks naturally to its own audience.

What Is A Step into the Unknown About?

The film follows a young man whose unexpected conversation with a barista leads him to explore life's deepest questions about suffering, sin and hope. Across four short acts, the characters visit a café, a tattoo studio, a luthier's workshop and a mountain summit. Through everyday situations and simple illustrations, they discover that the answer to humanity's deepest need is found in Jesus Christ.

How Can One Use the Film?

A Step into the Unknown is more than a film—it is a conversation starter that can open the door to deeper discussions about faith. We are excited about this new tool that we can use to reach young people in Poland.

You can simply send the link to a friend and invite them to watch it with you over coffee. It also works well for youth groups, home groups, church gatherings and outreach events.

During these conversations, you don’t just ask questions—share your own story. You talk about your own "step into the unknown": how you met Jesus and how He has transformed your life. Personal stories often speak more powerfully than even the strongest arguments.

In a bigger group it is best to divide participants into smaller discussion groups using the prepared discussion questions. You could also invite someone to share their testimony of coming to faith in Christ.

Our prayer is that resources like this will help many more people hear the Good News. That is the heart of our ministry—to make the name of Jesus known to everyone.
